Letchworth State Park has been coined as the “Grand Canyon of the East.” The trip was a relatively close drive and it was worth the effort. For $8 a vehicle you can spend an entire day at Letchworth. We spent our time walking the trails, but there are other attractions such as restaurants and a pool that you can also visit.
Jon, Myself and Jake with the falls in the back ground. This photo was taken at “Inspiration Point.” At this spot you can view 2 of the falls at once.
The gorge was astonishing. I can’t believe the way the water has carved all of the rock after the years. Its amazing what nature will do when left to its own devices. This park was much more beautiful than anything manmade could think of being!
At the very top of the picture below you will see a railroad bridge. It is HIGH! The crazy boys decided they had to walk across it. Of course I was far too mature for those antics so I waited below. While waiting I heard the train whistles which made my stomach drop. Then I saw the train, but I couldn’t locate the boys! Luckily a few minutes later they appeared below. Talk about an adrenalin rush! The boys were in the middle of the bridge when they heard the train and had to book it to get out of the way! Boy was I glad I waited below.

If you have a chance to visit Letchworth, I would highly recommend you do!
